Beauty news: Ultimo founder Michelle Mone launches Ultimo Beauty

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

A self-tan that tans AND sculpts the body? Score!

That’s exactly what UTan, the fake tan range from new brand Ultimo Beauty, is designed to do. Developed over 3 years by Ultimo founder Michelle Mone OBE, this non-streak, non-smell fake tan is exactly what us beach-shy types have been looking for as it delivers a gorgeous, deep tan whilst shaping the contours of your body too. Gisele better watch out…

Available in seven key products, including two shades of self-tan mousse, two shades of self-tan lotion and gradual facial tan. The collection also includes a Diamond Dust Body Exfoliator, a must before using self-tan (and I love that it has diamond powder in too, bling!)

Michelle commented: “UTan has been really exciting not least because it is Ultimo’s first foray into the beauty market having made our name in lingerie and fashion. I knew from the outset that I wanted the colour to be unrivalled and deliver that perfect colour that wouldn’t have any of those tell tale fake tan smells. It’s taken three years of development and I’m really proud of the UTan range as there’s a tan for everyone.”

Available from Ultimo Beauty and selected retailers including Harrods, Selfridges, Boots and Debenhams, prices start from £15.

Inside the Red Carpet Collection Box – Youngblood Mineral Primer

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

Youngblood PrimerThe thing I loved most about the Youngblood Mineral Primer is the feel; when it is first applied, it resembles a clear jelly like substance but once smoothed in, transforms to a soft, silky velvet. My skin felt divine after applying this primer which helped make my pores smaller and my complexion more even; despite not using a Youngblood foundation, it worked amazingly well with my own and it did seem to look a lot more ‘done’ for longer. My skin is quite oily and foundation can sometimes, so it seems, slide off after an hour or two but this primer helped hold on to it as though it would fall overboard. Having tested quite a few primers in my time, it is definitely one of the most lasting. Try it for yourself in our Red Carpet Collection Box, worth over £80.

Daily hero: Estée Lauder DayWear B•B Creme SPF35

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

Estee Lauder

Not another BB Cream I hear you cry! But yes there is and my word, this is the creme de la creme – literally. Estée Lauder DayWear B•B Creme SPF35 gives great coverage, far better than its competetors and is a little thicker than other BB Creams on the market. One of the things I love most about this BB Creme is the smell – think freshly cut cucumbers. It really points to the super antioxidant complex within the BB Creme, your skin’s much needed superfoods to deliver all manner of goodness and nutrition which is ideal in this weather. Plus, it has an SPF of 35 too. For me, it’s the ultimate in no fuss but fancy skincare – great for everything from a light coverage to acting as a primer underneath your normal foundation on a night out. Quite a brilliant little cream!

Want to try the amazing Estée Lauder DayWear B•B Creme SPF35? We’re offering you the chance with our exclusive offer of a perfectly sized 5ml tube. Simply click here to say hello your skin’s new BFF.

Try L’Occitane Divine Cream for only £1

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

Starting today, we have an exclusive offer for Latest in Beauty members. You can try a five day supply of L’Occitane’s latest anti-ageing moisturiser for only £1!

Divine Cream retails at £65 per jar, and is one of L’Occitane’s most luxurious skincare product to date. It contains 34% plant oils (high in Omega -3 and -6 fatty acids) to work on skin texture and provide nourishment. Myrtle essential oil increases cellular vitality, while L’Occitane’s favourite anti-ageing ingredient, ‘Immortelle’ (aka the everlasting flower) is known for its anti-free radical and anti-wrinkle properties.

What you get is a beautiful, glamorous product that definitely lives up to its name! I’ve been trying it for a while, and while my (fairly) young skin doesn’t really need the anti-ageing ingredients as much as older skins might, I’ve still fallen a little bit in love, and I’ve definitely noticed a difference in the texture of my skin.

I must admit, I had high expectations for this product. I’m a big L’Occitane fan, and I’ve used the Brightening Essence before, and really loved the way it worked to combat dull skin.

This moisturiser is like a more glamorous big sister to that product, beautifully packaged in a heavy marigold coloured glass jar with a silver lid. The product itself is very thick and rich, so a little goes a long way. I use an amount smaller than a pea, and that is plenty for my skin. It spreads easily and sinks in quickly, leaving skin feeling instantly softer. Almost immediately after using it, my skin looks more ‘alive’ and radiant.

But the big bonus for me – because with beauty products it has to be about the experience – it the scent! It really is divine, if a little difficult to describe. Some say fresh, others floral, I’d go with spicy. It’s unlike any beauty product I’ve tried before, very exotic and comforting. I try all manner of products on a daily basis, and this is the first one in about a year (other than perfume) that’s caused the other half to say I smell nice!

I’d recommend you try this if only for the scent, but if your skin is getting older and beginning to show lines and lack radiance, you’ll find the ingredients in this work wonders to bring out the best.

Your pack will also include an exclusive code to receive a free Brightening Cleansing Foam 150ml (worth £17.50) or Immortelle Toner 200ml (worth £16) when you spend £30 or more at L’Occitane.

Plus you will be invited to a complimentary skincare consultation and receive a free mini goody bag for you and a friend.*

Burt’s Bees gets the LiB member seal of approval!

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

It’s only July, but we may have already found 2011′s top rated Latest in Beauty sample! Our members have been in raptures over Burt’s Bees Therapeutic Bath Crystals. The soothing eucalyptus salts have been soothing tired joints up and down the country as our members give them the once-over. Here are just a few of the glowing reviews we’ve received in the last couple of weeks…

“Absolutely in love with this product. Smells lovely, doesn’t leave a nasty film on the bath and was sooooo relaxing I could have stayed in the bath forever. Was it my imagination or did it keep the water warmer for longer too?” – petarc

“This was amazing. The scent was really strong, and the fizzing sensation of the crystals was very soothing. The only downpoint – NO BUBBLES! I would still recommend it though!” – beccie

“Used this after a friends wedding when I felt tired and my limbs were aching. It was absolute bliss!!” – Cassie

“Absolutely wonderful product. I took a bath and it made me so relaxed I lay there for ages and felt completely rejuvenated.” – Charminbear

“I liked these and would like to buy the full size to try these more. They smelt gorgeous!” – Sharice

“Really liked these for the fragrance more than anything else, they really clear the head without being overpowering” – Stenogirl

“This had a unique, but not unpleasant smell: a hit of eucalyptus followed by nostalgia as it reminded me of freshly cut wood from my Da’s shed! Suitable and gentle enough for myself and my 3-year old nipper to enjoy a bath, the crystals melted away under ther running water. I added some Champneys for extra bubbles, but I luxuriated in the mineral soak (whilst my boy played around me) and it soothed my tired body worn-out from amusing him. I liked this very much.” – QueenBee

“Not really a bath fan as I prefer quickness of showers but liked the smell and would use this as a relaxing treat.” – JillyDollyBird

“Love it! amazing smell, very relaxing in the bath.” – lauza241

If you want to try for yourself, the bath crystals are available in your monthly beauty box, or try them with other Burt’s Bees products through the luxury samples section. PLUS if you tried and liked the product we may be able to offer you a chance to buy the full size at a special price. Check out your Private Sales page after leaving feedback for your limited time offer!

You can also buy the product at any time for £10.99 in the LiB personal shop.

Try BioEffect EGF serum for only £8 with our new luxury samples

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

It’s safe to say that I’m a fan of BioEffect EGF serum. In fact, I’ve been using it in place of night cream ever since I reviewed it back in January, and my skin’s never looked better.

The brand new ‘miracle’ product was also a winner in our New Year Honours awards, with you guys voting it the best new skincare product of the last 12 months. But at £125 per bottle, it’s a pricey investment!

So I’m really excited to be able to offer Latest in Beauty members the chance to try the product for a lot less.

Latest in Beauty have a limited number of luxury samples available. The 3.5ml bottles are worth £35, but you can order them from us now for only £8.

And don’t forget, we offer free postage & packing on orders of three or more luxury samples, so if you try just two more products (prices start at £2) you can get them all delivered for free.

Just click here to log in to the main site, then click the Luxury Samples box to order.
