We’ve recently been offering samples of Kyoku for Men Elements Body Washes in our beauty boxes, and now the feedback’s started to come in, we thought we’d have a look at what people think so far. It seems there are lots of husbands, boyfriends, fathers, brothers and friends out there who’ve been enjoying the chance to try out something a bit different – 84% of testers said they handed the sample over to the men in their lives! But it’s also great to see that some of our female members have been trying out the scents too – after all, who’s to say the men should have all the fun?
So far, almost 90% of you like the product, with Fire being the favourite scent (though most people love them all). Here’s what a few of you had to say…

This month the Latest in Beauty team are seriously lusting over the new Viktor & Rolf Limited Edition Flowerbomb perfume, which has been brought out especially for Christmas.
The scent is exactly the same as the original, and if you haven’t smelt it before, shame on you! It’s a heady mixture of jasmine and rose with subtle wafts of bergamot and patchouli. Some think it smells floral, I think it smells like blackberries…but we all agree it’s delicious.
With this limited edition version, the only difference is the design of the pretty pink crystal bottle which has been dressed-up in it’s Christmas finest with a collar of pink tulle, to compliment the laser-cut tulle dresses that the designers showed on the catwalks at Paris Fashion Week.
Head to your nearest department store or shop online at Selfridges where you’ll find this for £74.50 for 50ml.

Ok, so it’s not exactly a beauty product but when we clapped our eyes on the new Evian water bottle designed by fashion and perfume brand, Issey Miyake we had to get our hands on it and pop it in our product of the month section.
The beautiful floral printed bottle is limited edition so you’ll have to head down to Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason, Selfridges or click onto myevian.com to get yours quickly.
It only costs £3.99 but it’s so beautiful it begs the question – should we actually open it?

This month sees the launch of NARS new matte lipstick range.
NARS takes its lippies very seriously, always delivering the perfect shades with amazing staying-power. One of the key objectives for the matte range was to create a lipstick that had a gorgeous matte finish without the drying effect that most matte lipsticks have. And that’s exactly what they have managed to do with this new collection.
There are only 6 shades to choose from, at the moment. Volga (Deep Aubergine), Bangkok (Soft Rose), Tonkin (Cinnamon Plum), Terre De Feu (Black Cherry), Tashkent (Nude Beige) and Vesuvio (Full Bodied Red). They all have amazing full pigment so the colour you see in the packaging is the colour you end up with on your lips.
They are £18 each and available at Selfridges.

We often buy our beauty products from the fabulous beauty website LookFantstic.com. Their huge range of products allows you to stock up on your favourites all from one shop! Making life easier, that’s what we like.
So we challenged LookFantastic.com Features Editor, Alex Beveridge, to whittle down her top five beauty products she couldn’t live without!
Despite claiming to be a product junkie, when it came to being asked to whittle my top beauty products down to 5, I was a little concerned. In fact, panic set in as I attempted to deconstruct my beauty regime, product by product, thinking to myself a top 50 would be an easier mission! Especially considering my hair and beauty regime has this habit of snowballing week on week with all the new products that pass through the LF office (there are both good and bad sides to this!). After um-ing and ah-ing for a good morning, I succeeded in pinning down my top five products and here they are – my current* can’t-live-without beauty products:
No one’s a fan of dragging themselves out of bed at 6.30am every morning, and I’m no exception. But there are some things that can make that drowsy daily drag to the bathroom a little sweeter and mine is L’Occitane’s Almond Shower Oil. If you love almond, you’ll adore this. It’s super nourishing; in fact, so much so you don’t need to apply body lotion after (good if you’re always running late like me!). Plus, despite being an oil, it lathers up perfectly so you still get that clean feeling. Like the entire L’Occitane range, it is beautifully packaged and truly indulgent. I’m even going to go out on a limb and promise that you won’t be disappointed with this one – it’s simply heavenly, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it leaves your skin feeling like it’s been wrapped in silk. So go on, try it!
I’ve never been a foundation wearer – frankly I’ve seen too many badly applied tidemark stained, mismatched, over applied attempts that have been so far from the wearer’s actual skin tone, the notion of slapping on a layer of ‘cake’ has put me off for a lifetime. As you get a little older however, you start to appreciate the importance of an even skin tone – with this in mind I succumbed to my misconceptions and decided to give this number from boutique Japanese brand RMK a try. After literally a week, I’d never received so many compliments on my skin! The shade matched my skin tone, like for like, and it has this ‘invisible’ sheer formula that provides coverage, but is impossible to detect – the Holy Grail of foundations, right? Fearful of withdrawing this from my daily make-up regime, it has become a beauty staple of mine. At £29 it’s not one of the cheaper options, but I’ve had my jar (used daily) for nearly a year now – that works out to about 7p per wear…need I say anymore?!
When it comes to faking it, I am a bit of a sceptic. I’ve tried my fair share of spray tans, instants, graduals and wash off formulas; I’ve tried mousses, sprays, gels, and creams – and having achieved some (often) colourful results, I was elated to discover ‘the one’. It took a few bronzing blunders and embarrassing attempts to get here, but here I am – and the best bit? People can never tell the difference! What sets Xen-Tan’s gradual tanner Transform Daily Self Tan – apart from the Dove’s and the Holiday Skin’s – is simple: it doesn’t leave you glowing yellow (forget orange, most graduals leave you with a very odd jaundice glow), and that DHA biscuity smell is non existent. Instead, it has a delicate, non-intrusive vanilla scent, which I absolutely love! As with most tanning products, I’ve had to swap the white Egyptian cotton sheets for a darker hue, but if you permanently look like you’ve just stepped off a plane from Ibiza – it’s a small price to pay!
When I first discovered PUREOLOGY I couldn’t quite comprehend spending the best part of £30 on a shampoo and conditioner – I mean who would…? But after trying a sample (shampoo, conditioner and treatment) I was sure I hadn’t tried anything like it before. The organic range primarily cares for coloured hair, while the sub lines address more specific haircare concerns such as dry hair, damaged hair, or hair in need of volume like this shampoo and conditioner. After using the treatment, before I had even dried my hair I could feel the health! After a week, I think I actually began to morph into the woman off the Herbal Essences advert, as my hair felt completely transformed! After a couple of weeks, I resigned myself to the fact that you get what you pay for, at which point my ‘quality not quantity’ reflex kicked in. Now I am one of those people that would happily cough up for amazing hair – fooled again!
This wonder moisturiser gives 8 Hour Cream a good run for its money! Not only is Weleda’s Skin Food a replenishing daily moisturiser (just bear in mind that a little goes a long way), it can also be used as a night treatment on the face, an after sun to soothe sun exposed skin, chapped lips, dry hands or feet, or as an intense moisturising treatment anywhere on the body. Using chamomile, calendula and rosemary to perk up tired, dry or damaged skin, this multiuse organic product has bagged an armful of beauty awards too. With a cult celebrity following, this backstage beauty secret has earned itself a few A-List fans including Alexa, Helena, Erin, Peaches and Rihanna…are you sold yet?!

I’m lucky enough to have been on holiday recently and one thing I love more than arriving at my destination is shopping for a new perfume in the duty free at the airport. I love trying on as many perfumes as possible and spraying them so far up my arm that they all merge into one heady scent.
On this particular search in the airport, copious spraying and smelling wasn’t required, I stumbled across two perfume delights that I fell in love with instantly. They are the two new fragrances from Hermes. The first is Hermes Voyage Hermes, £53. This has a beautiful earthy aspect to it but I think I really fell in love with it for the packaging; I’m not afraid to admit that I judge a book by its cover, and that’s exactly what happened here. In typically sophisticated Hermes style the bottle is encased in a steel covering that swings round to reveal the bottle, it’s a dream. And as the name would suggest it comes in a little 35ml bottle – just the right size for throwing in your carry-on. The second is Hermes Eau Claire des Merveilles, £53.50 which is a much lighter and whimsical scent with lots of citrus scents that just jump right out at you.
I can always judge when a fragrance is good when people can’t stop sniffing you and I’ve been batting them off me ever since I got these two gems. I am now officially a Hermes girl through and through…I’m working on bagging a Birkin next.
