Okay, so we’ve all gone a little James Bond crazy after last night’s premiere at the Royal Albert Hall (Daniel Craig, enough said) but one of the pictures we loved the most was seeing the real life Mrs James Bond aka Rachel Weisz tenderly wipe the brow of her beau (where can we apply for this job?!) And according to our sources, the deep berry shade she’s wearing on her nails is OPI Malaga Wine.
It may not be from the brand’s Skyfall collection (the Man With The Golden Gun 18k Gold Leaf top coat is far more cool than any gadget Q might dream up!) but it’s a shade worthy of any Bond girl.

Check-in at MW Nails, the coolest new nail bar to open this side of the Atlantic.
Inspired by the glamour of 1970’s air travel, the salon, based in London’s Spitalfields with a sister site on Chancery Lane, this is one mile-high club you’ll want to join! Bedecked in fittings and furnishings from a decommissioned American Airlines 737, you really do feel like you’re travelling First Class with Pan Am-esque cabin crew, hostess trolleys and even aeroplane seat pedicure stations.
The attention to detail is second to none with overhead lockers to stowaway your belongings, a departure board of treatments (with tongue in cheek names such as Taxi n Take Off, Runway Repair and Captain’s Cockpit) and an ‘arrivals’ and ‘departures’ area for you to check-in, choose your shade (an impressive collection of OPI and Essie polishes) or sit, relax and dry off.
We were treated to the Shaghai Shape, a quick shape and polish for £12 and we can report it was a mighty fine mani. If only it was this cheap to get the First Class experience elsewhere!

Over a ‘Fruhstuck’ of Knockwurst and pretzels, I was introduced to the wunderbar new A/W collection from OPI, celebrating everything German!
With typically cute OPI nail shades of Nein!Nein!Nein!Ok Fine!, a sultry olive, Danke-Shiny Red, a ruby red, Every Month is Oktoberfest, a pretty plum and Berlin There, Done That, a neutral taupe, the 12-shade collection follows on from this summer’s celebration of Holland.
But why Germany? Suzi Weiss Fischmann, Executive Vice President and Artistic Director (she creates and names the shades – yes, we want her job too) said that Germany is the “hottest country in Europe right now” and that her inspiration came from the fashion in Berlin. We love this collection, with Don’t Talk Bach To Me, a lime-yellow, top of our wish list – which is top of yours?
Released later this year, the shades will be priced at £11 each, available from Lenawhite.

We’re constantly told how important it is to have facials regularly and to give your skin that extra bit of attention from time to time, but what about your hands? They deserve a little TLC from time to time too, and the Metrospa Hand Facial at Richard Ward‘s Chelsea salon (yes, the very same one where Kate Middleton gets her locks bouncified) sounded ideal. Dubbed the ‘ultimate manicure’, this is as thorough a hand and nail treatment as I’ve ever had – and I’ve had quite a few! It began in the same way as any other manicure, with nail polish removal, shaping and buffing before my hands were placed in an effervescent soak, with orange blossom I was told, to remove stains and soften. This was followed by an invigorating natural sugar renewal scrub (with peach blossom again) to exfoliate my hands. As my therapist was working the scrub into my hands I realised I never exfoliate my hands alone; of course, they are exfoliated when I exfoliate my body but that’s about it! And after the way they looked and felt from this treatment, I’ve added it onto my weekly beauty maintenance list. After the scrub was removed, I was treated to a delightful hand massage before my cuticles were nipped and my nails painted – I chose OPI Suzi Takes The Wheel, a grey/green that had people stopping me in the street to ask what the shade was (below, whilst I enjoyed a cuppa).
At £42, it is quite pricey for a manicure but I think it’s a treatment that once you’ve had, you’ll find it hard to go back to the run of the mill mani. After all, if your hands look dry, aged or dull, your mani is going to look pretty rubbish too!
