Think pink: Three ways to wear this season’s hottest colour
Monday, July 20th, 2015

From nude to fuchsia, pink is in this summer.  It’s all about finding the perfect shade for you! Just the right shade can add an injection of colour to complete your light, fresh summer look. Easier said than done, right? Sometimes pink can make people feel too girlish, but done the right way it’s flattering and is the perfect way to make a statement, whilst still keeping makeup to a minimum in summer. There are three shades in particular that are going to be this season:

Pink trends

The Pinky Nude – Carrying on from the surge in nudes popularity over autumn and winter, this shade puts a soft, summery twist on it. It’s all about rocking YLBB; not straying too far from the natural pigment of your lips, whilst still drawing just enough attention to them. The Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in Proudly Naked does just that with its lightweight, barely-there formula. On nails, this shade looks even more low-key and chic. Go to lipstick shades have been fashion favourite lately when it comes to manicures, and Nails inc Gel Effect Polish in Uptown really does this trend justice.

Peachy Coral – Nails inc’s Gel Polish in Kensington Passage is for those who love bright nails! It’s a popping coral shade that keeps coming back every summer, and we don’t ever seeing it going out of fashion. With the sun out, it’s the perfect excuse to get more colourful with your beauty palette, so luckily the high shine effect of this polish will make it stand out even more. Match it with the less bright, but still incredibly summery, Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in Peach on the Beach. Slick this on in a heatwave and your good to go thanks to the SPF15 protection in this hydrating stick.

Raspberry Pink – Bourjois also have more classic pink lovers covered with their Color Boost Lip Crayon in Fuchsia Libre. This will add a glossy raspberry tint to your pout that will last up to 10 hours. It is the ultimate must-have for summer if you want your lips to take centre stage with this juicy shade. The Nails inc Gel Effect Polish in Covent Garden Place offers up the opaque version of this colour. It’s really the kind of pink you can’t go wrong with; work it at the beach, on a summer day out or even to brighten up your office look. The plumping effect of the varnish also gives nails a flawlessly smooth finish that we can’t get enough of.

Today we’re loving…Lancome Vernis in Love Nail Colour
Friday, May 25th, 2012

The sun is shining, the toes are out and begging for a pretty new colour. My new fave thing – or things – has to be Lancome Vernis in Love Nail Colour, perfect for my despo toes. I was lucky enough to be sent a range of shades (there are a whopping 20 to choose from) and I can confirm that yes, they’re some of the most ideal nail shades on offer. I say ideal because they’re colours I have actually been searching for forever – from the luxurious navy blue of Bleu de Flore (above) to the deep lilac of Violette Coquette. The bottle is a new design which fits perfectly into your hand with the brush said to be ‘mistake free’ – I covered a nail in just one stroke. The finish is beautifully glossy, even without a top coat, thanks to the ‘micro mirrors’ in each bottle and is pretty resilient too. Ar £12 a bottle, I’m in love, are you?

Beauty news: January Jones becomes a pink lady
Wednesday, March 14th, 2012

It’s not quite as in your face as the likes of model Charlotte Free or Katy Perry, but even the usually classically coiffed January Jones has joined the pink lady brigade with these pale pink candyfloss highlights.

The Mad Men actress debuted her new ‘do at Paleyfest 2012 in Beverley Hills last night, where she was seen chatting to co-stars Jon Hamm and Kiernan Shipka. Betty Draper wouldn’t have any of this, but what do you think?
