Latest in Beauty has been the proud beauty box partner of the CEW Beauty Awards for the past six years. Having strong relationships with beauty brands in the industry enables us to be in the best position to support the awards and CEW members with beauty sampling. Latest in Beauty liaise with over 150 award nominated brands to bring CEW members beauty samples, as well as designing and producing the limited-edition goody bag. CEW is a non-profit professional organisation that celebrates excellence and product innovation across the beauty industry, with over 1000 members that go on to vote.
And now, we’re giving you a behind the scenes exclusive! For this month’s Beauty Thread, we’re sharing with you our partnership with CEW, from organising the products for the demonstration evening and goody bags, to the awards themselves, where many brands are celebrated for their commitment to the industry in addition to their product innovation and popularity.
EARLY BEGINNINGS
The LiB x CEW partnership always starts with our team receiving the list of brands that have nominated themselves for an award. As key organisers, we are the pivitol first step in ensuring a smooth CEW season. During the first few weeks, we liaise with the brands and facilitate the deliveries to our warehouse, allowing us to later put together the much coveted goody bags. Whether a brand or product is categorised as mass or prestige, brands want to get their products into the hands of the CEW members so that they can go on to vote for the winners, and we’re at the heart of ensuring that happens.
DESIGNING THE BAG
While the products are being confirmed, it’s down to our Graphic Designer to work on several design ideas for the goody bag (given out at CEW’s demonstration evening to members in attendance), which can then be put forward to CEW. Whittling down design ideas can prove to be difficult, because – if we do say so ourselves – every single design is so great. This year, both Latest in Beauty and CEW agreed on a chic cameo design with an on-trend neutral colour palette.
DEMONSTRATION EVENING
The most anticipated event in the beauty industry calendar is the CEW demonstration evening. This is where all nominated brands pitch up to showcase their nominated product, allowing members to gain further insight and experience the product/s for themselves. This is an evening where everyone comes together to celebrate their passion for the beauty industry – it’s a buzzy evening event that EVERYONE wants to attend. We’re there to meet with a variety of brands while handing out the much loved goody bags to members (which, as you can imagine, gets everybody VERY excited). AWARDS
Known as the “Oscars of the Beauty Industry”, the CEW Beauty Awards was first launched in the United Kingdom in 2006 to recognise outstanding product innovation and creativity. Voted on by over 1,000 CEW members in the UK – industry professionals and experts in the field of beauty – the CEW Beauty Awards are recognised as one of the most coveted awards in the industry.
Taking place at the elegant Hilton Park Lane, surrounded by glistening gold chandeliers and flowing bubbles, this year’s awards lunch was pretty spectacular. With guests including CEW partners, brands, award presenters and the most respected women in the industry, it’s an event that – if involved – you don’t want to miss. This year, our very own Managing Director, Charlotte, took to the stage to present two awards, which was extremely exciting! As everyone sits down for a three-course lunch, the awards are given out for each category, while speeches are given from founders and noteworthy individuals across the industry.
