I absolutely love dressing up for an occasion; it’s not often you get to do so, therefore I make the most of it when I do! Summer is here, and the social schedule is filling up. This weekend I attended a charity ball and I’m going to share with you a few steps in my routine for getting glammed up. Over the years, I have tried and tested a number of different makeup and skincare brands, but I’ve finally found what works for me. These products work to tackle my combination skin, thus helping my makeup last throughout the entire day.
STEP 1: SHEET MASK
Who doesn’t love a sheet mask? It makes such a difference prior to putting on makeup, ensuring my skin is glowing, ready and prepped. I used the PANACHEA gold foiled hydrating sheet mask that you can select in this month’s box; it’s one of the best I have used. It comes in a beautiful sleeve and it’s super innovative – half the pouch is filled with serum and half lies the sheet mask. Once you coat the mask in the serum, apply, leave for 15 minutes and feel the intense hydration!
STEP 2: FRESHEN UP
The Mario Badescu Rose Water Spray is one of my favourite skincare products, it’s super hydrating and I apply it before and after makeup. It smells amazing and just completely evens out my skin tone – definitely a cult product in my drawer.
STEP 3: MAKEUP
Why spend 30 minutes of your time and effort to put all that makeup on for it to smudge/fade away? I have recently discovered these blotting sheets from Mai Couture – are you ready for a game changer? If you suffer with oily prone skin throughout the day, these are your holy grail. You simply dab your face where oil is visible, and it blots away any oily residue and re-applies powder! An absolute must have in your bag for a summer occasion.
STEP 4: NUXE
When off out to an occasion, it’s important not to forget the body. Have you tried any of the NUXE body oils? They’ve recently released a new fragrance ‘Florale’ and it’s amazing. Before getting into my dress, I lightly coated my body with this oil to provide a luminous glow! Plus, it provides a subtle hint of floral fragrance which smells amazing all night long.
STEP 5: LIPPY
This month’s Haul of Fame product is one everyone needs, and I mean everyone! You’ve got to have a nude in your makeup bag. Right? I must say, I’m not much of a lipstick girl, but this subtle shade is just perfect to apply underneath my lip gloss and really suits my tone.
