At Latest in Beauty, there’s nothing we enjoy more than spending our lunch hour scrolling through our favourite blogs and all of the posts, photos and feedback on our Build-Your-Own beauty box selection. It’s so exciting for us when bloggers and influencers share their must-have Latest in Beauty discoveries, therefore each month we like to chat to one of them right here on the blog. This month we caught up with Laura from Lelore.

Q
Tell us a bit about your blog and what makes it stand out…
A
I started my blog four years ago after many years of searching for something to clear my acne. I've always loved beauty but the state of my skin was so bad and I found so many cool blogs that really helped me that I thought that maybe I could help people in a similar way. I think it's hard to truly stand out as a blogger now considering how many blogs are out there, but I like to think my readers come back because of my passion for beauty and how honest I am. I will only recommend a product and write about it if it works out for me and I can consider myself using it for a long while. I'm not a big believer of fast fashion or chopping and changing my skincare so I'm mindful of that. I'm also a bit scarky and tongue in cheek so I hope that side of me comes across too!
Q
Your go to make-up look is...
A
I tend to go for a glowing light base, fluffy brows and a neutral brown eye. At the moment I’m really enjoying the Glossier Lidstar eyeshadows as they have great staying power and don’t crease. Perfect for a long day when you don’t have time to touch up your makeup.
Q
What’s your current skincare routine?
A
My skincare routine is a mainly a mix of Caudalie and Algenist at the moment. I love the Caudalie cleansers and am switching between the cleansing oil and foaming cleanser mostly. For a little treatment a couple of times a week I always turn to the Pixi Peel & Polish as it’s perfect for my sensitive skin, and the Glossier Moisturising Moon Mask is a godsend for restoring radiance and hydration to thirsty skin. I’ve just bought a backup as I can’t bear to run out. I also use the Kate Somerville RetAsphere Retinol Night Cream every other night as it makes such a difference to the condition and texture of my skin.
Q
Favourite discovery from your latest LiB box?
A
It has to be the Olverum Bath Oil. It’s super luxurious and relaxing after a long day and is really affordable. It's a firm favourite already and one I'll be repurchasing very soon.
Q
The blogger/YouTuber made me buy it…
A
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture palette. I wasn’t interested in the colours when it first came out but then when lots of YouTubers were having difficulty with the formula I got sucked into watching reviews and tutorials and it really grew on me. Its the perfect autumnal palette and that's my favourite season too. Personally I think the formula is really nice but needs a light hand as it is insanely pigmented!
Q
Do you have a funny make-up memory?
A
When we were teenagers and in our awkward ‘alternative’ stage, my best friend and I were obsessed with Barry M pink mascara and using lipstick as eyeshadow. At the time we thought it was cool and edgy but looking back we looked like we hadn’t slept in months!
Q
What’s your holy grail beauty product?
A
Mac Paint Pot in Painterly. It’s a cream eyeshadow base that not only primes but evens out the redness and veins on my eyelids. I’ve been using it daily for 15 years and I don’t know what I’d do if they discontinued it. That’s quite a scary thought actually...
Q
How do you relax?
A
I try and make time for a long relaxing bath a couple of times a week and indulge in a face mask and catch up with my favourite YouTube channels. At the moment I’m digging everything Sammi Jefcoate does. As a newish YouTuber she’s killing it right now.
Q
If you could curate your own dream beauty box, what would it include and why?
A
My dream box would be a complexion glow up box with everything you need from skincare to makeup to create a radiance glowy base. It would include the Pixi Peel & Polish in and the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Illuminating CC Cream and of course a Becca highlighter.
Q
Best bit of beauty advice you’ve ever received?
A
To take your makeup off the second you get home. It’s the best way to make sure you fully remove every scrap and cleanse properly. Plus your skin has much longer to put your treatments to work rather than transferring onto your pillow at night. As soon as I get tired I get lazy so this ensures I don’t let my skin suffer.
