Q
Tell us a bit about your blog and current content highlights...
A
So my blog is mainly a space for sharing my thoughts on beauty bits & any lifestyle updates or interests. It started as a bit of a hobby during sixth form (over four years ago) but I've been taking it a bit more seriously over these past two years. It's become a great space for expressing myself creatively and hopefully, I've created a little space on the internet that is aesthetically pleasing and enjoyable to read! I've been focusing a bit more on travel and have just blogged about a hotel in Scarborough which was lovely. I also love my post on my hair favourites - I'm definitely not a hair gal so it was great to share some hair care I've been loving!
Q
What's in your makeup bag for Spring?
A
I'm obsessed with the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser with loads of The Body Shop Honey Bronzer, lashings of MAC Soft & Gentle Highlight and an orange matte lip (like Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lip in Anna Nicole). After wearing heavier makeup for winter, it's nice to focus on a natural and glowing base that truly looks like skin.
Q
If you could raid one person's makeup bag, whose would it be?
A
Gigi Hadid. I know she doesn't seem to wear much makeup but she always looks flawless. I'm obsessed with natural, glowy skin and she always nails it (although I'm sure that's partially due to her makeup artist!).
Q
Favourite discovery from your latest LiB box?
A
It's a tie between the REN Flash Rinse 1-Minute Facial, Oribe Dry Texturising Spray and the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. They're all products I really wanted to try but was never willing to part with that much money in case they went wrong! But I love them all (and am carefully rationing them....)
Q
Most underrated beauty product?
A
MAC Fix+ Prep & Prime Spray or NYX Matte Liquid Liner. I think the MAC Fix+ is everything in making your foundation look as natural as possible as it helps give a glow and add a bit more dimension to your skin. It also helps set your powders and make it look less cakey. And the NYX Matte Liquid Liner is my go to. It's the only drugstore liner I've found that lasts all day and is even sweat proof! It's really inky black and looks so good all the time!
Q
How about most overrated?
A
Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks (all of them!). I think they're not worth the price (aside from being pretty and photogenic) but I've tried so many more drugstore lippies that completely knock their socks of. Not worth the money.
Q
The blogger/YouTuber made me buy it:
A
Anastasia Beverley Hills Powder Contour Kit. I'm not a big contour gal and I don't think this kit is too special... Would totally recommend the Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit for a drugstore equivalent!
Q
Dramatic eye or statement lip?
A
Depends on how I'm feeling. I love a bright lip if I'm not wearing much other makeup but dramatic eyes and a nude lip are my go to if I'm not feeling too inspired.
Q
Lipstick or lipgloss?
A
Lipstick. Matte liquid lipsticks are everything to me.
Q
Best piece of beauty advice you've ever been given?
A
That good skin is always a priority. I think when you have clear and refined skin, makeup looks so much better - especially foundation. I know this isn't possible for everyone but taking daily Zinc supplements, drinking enough water and cutting out dairy makes a world of difference!
