Our current lifestyle can be fast moving and stressful, thus taking its toll on our skin. The importance of treating your skin at home has become more and more important, but alas, often overlooked. Performing a facial on yourself involves a much deeper cleanse, which is vital for combatting everyday aggressors such as environmental stress, pollution, makeup and sun damage. Unsure of where to start? We’ve partnered with Omorovicza to provide you with a step-by-step guide to performing an at-home facial using some of the finest products from the brand’s cult skincare range…
CLEANSE
The first step before you can successfully go onto treating your skin, is cleansing. So, roll up your sleeves and prepare to take off the day, sweeping away all impurities with a pea sized amount of Omorovicza’s Thermal Cleansing Balm. Warm into fingertips and apply onto the face and neck, using massaging techniques while the product dissolves into an oil consistency. Follow by rinsing with a warm cloth.
EXFOLIATE
You can’t reap the full benefits of an at-home facial without a little exfoliation, which is key to removing dry, flaky skin cells and aiding cell turnover. Apply a generous amount of Omorovicza’s micro-algae enriched Refining Facial Polisher onto your face and neck and massage for three minutes before removing with a steamed cloth to reveal a lit-from-within glow.
TONE
Next step is to use one of our favourite products, the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist (top tip: we like to keep ours in the fridge for maximum refreshment). A quick spritz of this neroli and rose scented face mist refreshes the skin instantly. Mist liberally across the face, neck and décolleté and allow to soak into the skin for a brilliantly radiant complexion.
THE EYE TREATMENT
If there’s one thing we like to make sure we combat during a mini at-home facial, it’s the puffiness of our eyes. Thankfully, the Omorovicza Reviving Eye Cream makes the perfect next step to tackle dark circles for instantly fresher eyes. Apply the eye cream to your eye contour, massaging in circular motions. For a more intense pampering session, we recommend placing cooled cucumber slices or cotton pads over the eyes to aid relaxation. Leave this mask on for 15 minutes and rinse well with warm water.
MASK, MASK, MASK
You know we all love a face mask here at LiB HQ, so our favourite step of any facial is a good masking sesh. It’s time for the ultimate deep cleansing treatment with Omorovicza’s Deep Cleansing Mask, a white clay-based mask that works a treat on oily, blemish-prone and combination skin. Simply apply a generous layer to the face and neck and don’t be concerned over a slight tingle – this is the active ingredients getting to work. Leave on for 15 minutes and remove with a warm cloth.
MASSAGE IT OUT
We’re all aware by now that massage has some of the best benefits for our skin, so at this point of your facial, it’s time to really get to work with those hands. Begin with a few drops of Omorovicza’s Omoressence in your palms, then press the liquid into your skin until fully absorbed. Follow with a pump of the brand’s Instant Perfection Serum, again pressing into the skin, Work with your fingers to create a rapid upward flicking motion on the right and left side of your face before working upwards and flicking the skin with your 3rd and 4th finger, alternating your hands along each cheap. Finish the treatment by pinching cheeks using your thumb, 3rd and 4th finger, alternating hands along each cheek muscle.
MOISTURISE
When it comes to achieving the ultimate glowing complexion, it’s absolutely essential to follow with Omorovicza’s Illuminating Moisturiser, featuring in our ICONS 10 Year Anniversary Edition and tried and tested by our very own Commercial Director, Charlotte. It’s the gold standard for perfecting lit from within skin and will seal in all prior facial steps. Apply this lightweight cream after the brand’s Reviving Eye Cream to boost your skin’s moisture levels. Finish with Omorovicza’s Perfecting Lip Balm to hydrate, soften and restore elasticity to dry lips.
THE FINISHING TOUCH
As a finishing touch to your at-home facial, finish by focusing on areas that are often overlooked, such as your neck and décolleté. Using Omorovicza’s Firming Neck Cream and flat fingers, follow the neck contour and massage the neck with sweeping and lifting motions and sweep up and along the jawline from left to right.
