THE NIGHT BEFORE
HAIRCARE HEROES
The evening is the perfect time to give the tresses a little bit of attention. Garnier’s watermelon mask is a new favourite of ours, thanks to how versatile it is. Do what suits you, so whether you’re short on time and need a reliable conditioner leave-in conditioner (or just a standard condition), or have the evening to pile on a hair mask, this multitasking tub is your bathroom staple. Our favourite way to use it is as an intensive mask, especially as it works wonders on bleached and coloured hair – the juicy watermelon extract is loaded with nutrients!
After washing and treating your hair, it’s really important to prep and protect it if you’re styling. Short to medium length hair often needs a little more attention (hello flyaways and kinks!), so we like to reach for the Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer. A professional standard pre-styler, this oil moisturises, defrizzes and protects against breakage, so you can rest easy when you reach for the dryer or the tongs!
BEAUTIFUL BODYCARE
When you jump out of the shower or bath, it’s a perfect time to keep the body moisturised with skin-loving formula. THE DAY AFTER
TREAT YOURSELF – THE SKINCARE EDITION
Although we might have a stellar night skincare routine going on, while we sleep, our temperature increases and our skin also dries out too, so we need to refresh it come the AM. We like to start with a nice cleanser, and Indeed Labs’ Watermelon Melting Balm ticks all the boxes! The oil-based formula is infused with hemp seed and watermelon (packed with antioxidants, vitamins and fatty acids) so the skin will be left bright and glowing. Melt onto the skin, and add water to create a gentle lather – this is the perfect start to the day!
Following a cleanser, it’s serum time and Eucerin’s hyaluron filler is just the thing our face needs for that little pick me up. Powerful anti-ageing actives work to reduce age spots, plump the skin and banish deep wrinkles too. For skingredient fans out there, you’ll find thiamidol, hyaluronic acid, argan oil and arctiin within.
The last step before any makeup is moisturising, and we really want to use a product that locks in the hydration and lasts all day. StriVectin’s Anti-Wrinkle Recode Rich Cream is a comforting cream that can be used in the morning and the evening to nourish even the most delicate of skin with the use of ceramides, plant-derived cholesterol and fatty acids too.
GLOWY MAKEUP
Skin feeling soft and supple? We thought so! Now it’s time to enhance your beauty with our tips on how to master the art of glowy makeup! First up, your base. It’s *so* important to prime the skin. After all, you’ve spent your time prepping and hydrating the skin, it would be a shame to not give it some protection before applying makeup. We’re always reaching for Smashbox’s Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer, as it really delivers on its promises. Pore blurring, pollutant-defending and complete with a blend of peptides and vitamins, it really gives your skin a flawless start.
After you’ve applied your favourite foundation, it’s time to set the look – because you want your look to last all day, right? Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Setting Powder is a cult formula that leaves the skin soft and glowy, without disturbing your foundation shade or weighing the face down. At LiB, we like to use it under the sensitive eye area to set concealer and ensure any lines around and under the eyes are banished – our tip? After applying a small amount of concealer under the eye, wet your sponge or powder puff, then apply the powder in small scooping motions (instead of sweeping or patting). This will give you a smooth, luminous look for up to 12 hours!
The beauty world really is leaning into the ‘less is more’ value, with multitasking products becoming ever the popular talking point. We wanted to include a palette that does it all – enter MUA’s Light Lustre, a set of powdered pigments that work as highlighters, bronzers, blushers, eyeshadows… you name it, they bring the colour and shimmer. We love to use the darker shades for a more monochromatic eye and cheek combo – be sure to wipe away any fallout in one easy swipe with Bioderma’s H2O wipes too.
Speaking of eyes, grab yourself a statement mascara to transform your look in seconds. Our current fave is Bobbi Brown’s Smokey Eye Mascara for its intense kohl pigment that’s buildable and long-wearing, plus you’re guaranteed no clumps…
REFRESH YOUR TRESSES
Makeup done, but your dream hair from the night before looking a bit lacklustre? Enter Oribe and the Mystify Restyling Spray, a formula we reach for to reactivate yesterday’s hair styling products, as well as shielding against heat damage (plant collagen, caffeine, biotin and niacinamide all work together to repair the hair!). Alternatively, if you love Bumble & Bumble’s primer, you can use that to refresh your locks, too.
POST-MAKEUP SKINCARE
After a long day with your glowy makeup, it’s time to remove it!
