As a team of established beauty experts, we’ve got our fingers on the pulse when it comes to knowing the latest the beauty industry has to offer. Want to be kept in the know? Our Trend Report will give you all the beauty news and new launches you’ve been craving. So, let’s see what’s trending this week…

It’s almost impossible to ignore The BRIT’s – known not only for the prestigious award ceremony and show-stopping musical line-up, but also for tongue in cheek presenting, politically driven acceptance speeches and down-right desirable fashion and beauty moments. Tuesday’s 2021 BRIT Awards went above and beyond in all four of these areas, serving us with powerful performances from Sir Elton John and Years & Years, countless points of recognition and gratitude for the NHS and frontline workers, plus an emotive statement on self-belief from Taylor Swift who bagged the Global Music Icon award.

Now, live music gracing our screens once again was one thing, but goggling at the beauty and fashion choices of the star-studded lineup was just something else. Our big BRIT beauty moment of 2021? HAIR. And lot’s of it. Read on to see our favourite bouffants, beehives, bubble ponytails (yes, it’s a vibe), and braids from a night of music that saw us take another small step towards normality.

BRAID = SLAYED

There were several braid showcasing moments throughout the evening, including a long flowing look from Jade Thirlwall and a high wrapped pony Leiah-Anne Pinnock, both from girl band Little Mix. However, our plait-performance award has to go to Lianne La Havas’s ultimate 90’s look – her face framing braids and super stacked pony was a thing of true beauty.

THE NEW BUBBLE

The word bubble has gained a whole new world of connotations in the past year in the UK (thank you, covid), but now, it’s time to step aside for the rise of the bubble ponytail. Thanks to Griff, (winner of the Rising Star Award) who was pictured sporting an extra-long, jewel-embedded bubble-braid, we can now safely say that Arianna Grande might have some upcoming competition for the most iconic up-do. A truly head-turning look we won’t be forgetting any time soon.

QUEEN BEE

Not only did Dua Lipa pick up the most awards of the night, head up the opening performance of the ceremony AND petition for an equal pay-rise for NHS workers, but she did it all in the most glamorous beehive we’ve seen in a long time. On the red carpet, Dua stated about the look: “I wanted to make it very British, quite London, have some fun with it!”. If the beehive is back, we are most certainly here for it.
