FENTY SKIN IS (ALMOST) HERE

We’ve been dying to know how Rihanna gets her skin looking so flawless, and Fenty Skin is almost here with what they promise to be a ‘new culture of skincare’. With a focus that a skincare routine shouldn’t be confined to one gender (YES!), the line will feature medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products. There will also be related accessories like tools and applicators up for grabs too. With the likes of Lil Nas X and ASAP Rocky already featuring on the brand’s dedicated Instagram, you can officially expect this skincare to be attached to some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

FROM GREEN BEAUTY TO BLUE BEAUTY

We’re all becoming more aware of the impact our choices are making on the environment, and with the cosmetics industry stepping up to make ethical changes in elements like packaging and processing, green beauty was born. More recently there has been a surge in the blue beauty movement, which addresses how the cosmetics we use affect the ocean: from packaging to marine-derived materials in our skincare. Blue Beauty has seen the emergence of brands like Biossance, who use biotechnology to harness the same ingredients but from plants instead of the ocean. There are also brands like Ren skincare who source ocean plastic to recycle and use as packaging, and Honua Hawaiian Skincare that uses wind energy and compostable packaging made from vegetable ink. All positive steps towards a more sustainable world!

GLOW BABY, GLOW

There’s a brand new brand on the block, and it’s all about glowing skin. British born Glow Hub is here with a range of products that look to treat and prevent rather than simply cover-up.  Building your skincare routine is made easy with the colour coded packaging in pretty pastel, an instant hit for your beauty counter aesthetics too!

CIATE WITH A SMILE

To mark the launch of their collaboration with lifestyle brand SmileyWorld, Ciaté London lit up the House of Commons with a gigantic smiley face (adorned with lipstick and lashes of course) to spread a message of positivity and the importance of a smile. Their collab sees a range of products for the eyes, lips and nails, all with a focus on capturing self-expression.
