For this week’s Trend Report, we’re celebrating PRIDE. Despite having to celebrate from home this year as opposed to painting the streets with rainbows, we’re showing our support with a colourful takeover of our logo and sharing some of the best brand contributions to Pride month. When it comes to beauty, there’s space for every part of the LGBT+ community.

MUNROW BERGDORF X L’OREAL PARIS

Transgender model and activist Munroe Bergdorf has announced that she will be working with L’Oréal Paris as a consultant on its UK Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Board. Following her denouncing the brand’s Black Lives Matter post, she took to Instagram to share her statement: “This week, I spoke with L’Oréal Paris new president, Delphine Viguier, who reached out to me directly. We had an open and constructive conversation, she listened to what I had to say and expressed her regret for how the situation was handled three years ago. As an activist, part of my work is to encourage big businesses to understand their responsibility with regards to diversity and inclusion. It’s imperative that in all industries, a wide range of people from different backgrounds and experiences are in the room at all levels and in decision making roles, to reduce oversight and to create a product that is built with all people in mind.” L’Oréal will also be donating €25,000 to UK-based charity Mermaids, which helps trans and gender-diverse children and young people, as well as a €25,000 donation to UK Black Pride.

PRIDE IN BED

pride-2020-3-z
Slip has launched a limited-edition LOVE IS LOVE sleep mask to mark Pride, made from luxe Mulberry silk both inside and out. Featuring “LOVE IS LOVE” embroidered into the silk in colourful pastel hues, the sleep mask is also housed in a rainbow striped box. As we spend a third of our lives in bed, the slip sleek mask has been developed to reduce friction while we sleep, which can lead to the stretching and tugging of the delicate facial skin.
