If you’re anything like me in the morning, you’re rushing out of the door just praying you put your shoes on the right way around. It’s true, I’m not a morning person. Whilst I manage to beautify myself before shooting out of the door most days, I always like to have a stash of small products in my handbag to add those finishing touches on the go.
Sleek Makeup Pout Polish – Every girl has a lip balm or two – or even three if you’re anything like me – in her handbag, but every now and then you need something a little extra to step it up from a plain lip. These chic little pots of colour are just the ticket as they require minimal effort on the go, but still add a burst of pigment where it’s needed. No brushes are required; just a quick swipe of the finger and you’re left with a super glossy pout.
Invisibobble Traceless Hair Rings - The last thing on my to-do list when I’m getting ready is my hair, and you’ll more often than not see me with my hair thrown up in a bun. It’s no surprise then that Invisibobble is a handbag hero of mine! I always have a few on the go as they’re great for quickly pulling your hair together into something presentable without the ouch factor of most hairbands. At the end of the day I’m not trying to yank out a band that’s been caught in my tresses and my hair is left kink free.
Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream – This is probably my personal favourite handbag essential thanks to the smell! Rather than being overly citrusy it smells more like a lemony dessert. Quite fitting that it should smell like a treat, because it’s the perfect piece of indulgence for my cuticles. Just massaging a little bit of this balm into my cuticles daily keeps them nourished and under control, and on days when I’m varnish free I take an extra minute to massage it all over my nails. The tin itself is super cute and slides into my handbag without a hitch. But don’t let it’s compact size fool you – a little goes a long way with this product so it’ll last a long time!
Le Couvent Des Minimes Baume Du Jardinier Gardeners Hand Healer - Having a good cream to hand – pun intended – at all times it’s something that’s isn’t up for debate. I’m always finding myself in situations where my hands feel uncomfortably dry, especially during this time of the year. You can always count on the Provence to provide the best hand creams, and this one is no exception. Shea butter makes up 20% of the formula, so you know they aren’t skimping on the good stuff. This makes it nourishing enough for active hands, but light enough not to leave behind a greasy residue.
Agent Provocateur Fatale Eau De Parfum – It’s easy to forget a spritz of perfume before leaving the house, and carrying around a full bottle less than practical. If you’ve ever attempted this to find it has leaked in your handbag, you’ll know the headache that comes with it and want to avoid it at all costs. Of course, a sample size is the perfect solution! I like rotate my scents according to my mood, so being able to carry a few different ones around with me is a bonus. Currently floating around the handbag is Fatale by Agent Provocateur, a seductive feminine scent with notes of pink pepper, mango, gardenia and vanilla orchid…perfect for after work hours!
