It’s here and we’re feeling green; it’s Organic September, a month-long campaign led by the Soil Association to raise the profile of organic products in the UK and shine a light on organic farmers, producers and brands. The Soil Association Certification is independent and rigorous, whereby the body reviews the entire manufacturing process including ingredients sourcing, formulation procedures and premises, as well as packaging and marketing messages. The Soil Association recognises this alongside demand for clarity between certification bodies and as a result teamed up with four international partners to create the worldwide standard COSMOS. Since 1 January 2017, all newly-certified products by each of the partners have to meet the COSMOS standards, which will eventually become the mainstream global standards for organic health and beauty.

JUST LOOK FOR THE SYMBOL

Once a brand or business has passed the certification process they are given the ‘stamp of approval’ with the symbol to use across their branding. Looking and feeling good shouldn’t mean ugly compromises, so when you see the logo on a product you know it’s sourced and manufactured using sustainable ingredients, not tested on animals, free from harsh chemicals, nano particles, parabens, synthetic dyes and artificial fragrances. Finding and buying organic has never been simpler.

For Organic September, Latest in Beauty has delved into some of the best in green beauty, which we urge you to check out and add to your latest box as they’re added to the site throughout the week. Here are some of our favourites…

PUT THE CLEAN IN CLEANSE

Wipes-Makeup-Removal-1200px

Have you ever considered whether the makeup removal products that you’re using may leave more questionable ingredients on the skin than they are taking off? Formaldehyde-releasing chemicals, foaming ingredients, parabens and synthetic fragrances are a few of the ingredients that are found in conventional packs of wipes. Natracare Cleansing Makeup Removal Wipes are made from only certified organic and natural ingredients to leave skin cleansed, moisturised and refreshed. Try natracare this month!

TIME OF THE MONTH? MAKE IT ORGANIC

Digital-Tampons-Regular-10-1200px

Let’s be frank, we don’t want to be putting any nasties near our delicate lady bits so when it comes to sanitary products, organic and natural is the best option. Made from 100% organic cotton and nothing else (yep, really) these are totally chlorine and plastic free, and not only that, they contain absolutely no dyes and are biodegradable and compostable.
