So, what’s been trending in beauty this week?
A BRONZE FOR EVERY BABE
No sun, no sand, no problem. The Hoola bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics is one of the most cult bronzers on the market, becoming a staple in the makeup bags of countless beauty mavens. The launch of Hoola Light was revolutionary for paler complexions, and following that success, the brand has now welcomed two new Hoola shades to their bronzing line-up. Get ready to say aloha to Caramel (a medium-deep shade) and Toasted (deep) for your best bronze yet.
DUCK & DRY NEW LOCATION
One of our favourite spots for a bouncy blow dry, Duck & Dry, has revealed the expansion of its salons, opening a new space in London’s Mayfair. This new location will also be the first in the chain to house the Duck & Pluck brow bar, which will offer popular brow services such as threading and tinting.
LUSH BOMBS OUT OF SOCIAL
We all love a bath bomb in the LiB office, which means many of us are regulars at LUSH. This innovative cosmetics brand has caused a storm on social media in the last few days by announcing it will be closing down some of its social media platforms. We’re not unsympathetic, the algorithms across all three major social platforms can prove a challenge to contend with. Lush has stated that the brand has always been made up of many voices, and it’s time for them to be heard; making social more about passions than likes. Over the next week, the Lush customer care team will be actively responding to customer messages and comments, and after this point can be reachable via the website’s live chat, on email and by phone. There will be some social presence, and fans are encouraged to use #LushCommunity.
If you’ve never tried the Too Faced Peach Perfect Foundation, you need to. With 10 new shades added to the already extensive colour range, this peachy formula is infused with refreshing peach and sweet fig milk to provide a comforting, matte long-wearing 14-hour formula. It’s the modern way to wear matte foundation – photo friendly, smooth, flawless, and comfortable with a soft-focus velvety finish.
BROW THIS WAY
With years of expertise in the beauty industry, tanning extraordinaire, Sienna X, has turned its attention to the fast-growing trend service of brow treatments and has launched its very own brow brand: Sienna X Brows. The tint treatment has been developed to offer a variety of shades, ensuring a great colour match and a natural finish, while the product line has been specially formulated to leave you with perfect, flawless brows and full colour coverage every single time. The Brow range consists of the following products: Sienna X Brows Tint, Sienna X Tint Developer, Sienna X Tint Stain Remover, Sienna X Brow Pencil, Sienna X Fixing Serum, Sienna X Illuminator Duo and Sienna X Micellar Water.
STELLA GOES LIVE
Following the growing trend of magazine live events, The Telegraph has this month revealed its plans to launch Stella Live, taking place at the Saatchi Gallery in London from 10-11 May. Bringing to life the Stella magazine, celebrities, expert speakers and the title’s own columnists will cover everything across fashion, food, beauty and interiors, to relationships, wellbeing and lifestyle. There will be masterclasses, workshops and live talks, with speakers including Mary Portas, Trinny Woodall, Amelia Free and Davina McCall, to name a few. The event will also give attendees the opportunity to hear style advice, beauty tips and take part in free pampering.
